Quote of the Month "Don't ever let someone say the sky is the limit. There are footprints on the moon!" - 8th grade student, Davis, JHS, Sterling Heights, MI |
It is my hope that this newsletter reaches over 10,000 people this year giving a voice to young people and the adults who guide them. The goal is to bring together youth and adult leaders by providing stories, comments and other educational resources. I thank you for your support and encourage you to use and pass this newsletter on to anyone you think would benefit. I offer thoughts and opinions and in no way intend to offend or insult anyone. I am sure you understand. Should you like to add something that you think would benefit the masses of in-purpose people please feel free to email me at jeffyalden@aol.com. Keeping your TRUE Purpose When weâre born, weâre always born "in purpose"; weâre born a people of character, with strength and fierce determination. However, when we allow others to exert too much influence in our lives, we become "out of purpose." We need to remember that the best way to keep our true purpose in life is to stay true to ourselves. The people who influence your life play a big role in the person you become. Who you are is a result of who you associate with. You will undoubtedly learn things from the company you keep, for good or evil. Just as birds teach other birds how to fly and fish teach other fish how to swim, people teach other people how to be human. So make sure the people you hang around with are people that will lift you up, not bring you down. (top) To realize the value of a sister: Ask someone who doesn't have one. To realize the value of ten years: Ask a newly divorced couple. To realize the value of four years: Ask a graduate. To realize the value of one year: Ask a student who has failed a final exam. To realize the the value of nine months: Ask a mother who gave birth to a still born child. To realize the value of one month: Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby. To realize the value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper. To realize the value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. To realize the value of one minute: Ask a person has missed the train, bus or plane. To realize the value of one-second: Ask a person who has survived an accident. To realize the value of one millisecond: Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics. To realize the value of a friend: Lose one. Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special. (top) March has come up quick. Just two months into the new year. How are our goals, plans, and resolutions doing? Have we forgot them, given up on them, put them aside, or just down right said, "Forget about it"? Being in-purpose is an everyday commitment. It's doing the little things everyday. You can't give up, quit, forget about it. Sure it is hard to stay in-purpose but remember those days that you are out of-purpose? Just wake up the next day and get in-purpose and do the best you can to stay there. Just do the best you can. Same thing we tell kids. Do the best you can. Not bad advice, huh? Remember how you feel when you are in-purpose verse out of-purpose. (top) The Jeff Yalden Experience? .. Priceless! People are talking about Jeff's new book for teens, "Pathway to Purpose ..
